Viaje: Davao City

Hola Amigos y Amigas!

Last October 4, 2011, my friend and I flew to Davao for work related circumstances. However, that didn't stop us from seeing what Davao has to offer. The other night, we went to have dinner at Jack's Ridge Resort. It is my second time in Davao but I didn't have the chance to visit this resort during my first visit. The resort is about 15 minutes away from the city. It would probably cost one around Php 120 in taxi fare.

Ren and I at the entrance of the resort

Upon arriving at the resort, we went into the Taklobo restaurant and had our dinner there. We ordered their Pusit (Squid), Spare ribs, Mango Sisig, and Gambas.

Ren and I while waiting for our orders to arrive. We chose a table that gave us a breathtaking view of the entire city. We noticed that the restaurant was jam packed with people!

The view from our table!

The Pusit and the Spare ribs! They were really delicious! The spare ribs were a bit gummy though. ;)

Gambas! Delicioso!

Mango Sisig! For some reason, I was craving mango and bagoong that day, that's why I ordered this. This dish is composed of diced mangoes topped with onion, tomatoes, and bagoong.

After our very satisfying dinner, we decided to explore the resort some more.
Here are some of our pictures taken around the resort.

I love these little statues!

At the restaurant's entrance.

Moi with a soldier statue!

This has my birthday written on it! So I just had to take a picture!

Ain't this nice? The letters that spell out DAVAO are in the form of some of the things that Davao is famous for. The D is a Durian, the A is an Orchid and the V is the Philippine Eagle.

I am an Atenean! So I just had to take a picture with this statue of an eagle!

I would definitely recommend to anyone to visit Davao! The city has some great sites and great food! The people are really warm too! :)

Till my next viaje and blog post. :)

Xoxo,
G <3
