Sea Goddess

Hey there!

I got inspired today when I saw the E.L.F. Cosmetics Quad in Ocean Dreams. The quad has some great blue and green shades that reminded me of the sea and of mermaids. I decided to buy the quad and attempt to do an eye makeup using it. Haha. Honestly, this is my first ever blog post of this sort. I tried doing this kind of posts before but I couldn't get a decent picture! Thankfully, I now have my cousin with me here in Manila and she nicely volunteered to take the shots! Thanks Crissa! :)

This look is very simple and I would recommend this look for a night out or for a themed party. The materials I used are very affordable and are available at any department store. I will be showing pictures of the step-by-step process in accomplishing this look. Let's get started!

Step 1: I applied a cream eyeshadow as my base. I used the Enlightened Creamy Eyeshadow Base in the shade Highlight. I got this cream eyeshadow from one of my Glamourboxes. I think it was from the January one.

Step 2: On the inner half of my eyelid I applied this light green color (2nd color from the left) from the quad.

Step 3: On the outer half of my eyelid I applied the violet-blue color (1st color from the right) from the quad.

Step 4: On my crease and on the outermost portion of my eyelid, I deepened the color using the deep blue color (2nd from the right) from the quad.

Step 5: Highlight your brow bone and tear duct area with the lightest green shade (1st from the left) in the quad. Out of all the colors in this quad, I don't like this the most. The color payoff is very minimal that I had to apply the color more than once.

Step 6: Line your upper lash line and water line with a deep blue-green color. I used Nichido's Eye Contour Pencil in Metal Blue.

Step 7: Coat your lashes with mascara. I used my Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara in Black Noir.

I hope you guys liked this look and I hope you'll try it for yourselves! If there is any specific look that you would want me to do or any E.L.F. quad to use for a look, please comment below and let me know!

The BDJ BOX Beauty Social

Hello Lovelies and fellow Bellas!

I attended the BDJ Box Beauty Social this afternoon at the SM Mall of Asia. I learned about this event through an email newsletter that they have sent me. I got excited upon seeing that email because I have been a Bella since 2011 and I have just recently subscribed to the BDJ Box!! Basically, the Beauty Social is an event which has a lot of talks related to beauty and there were a lot of booths from brands such as Revlon, Covergirl, Max Factor and Goody! There were also booths from local brands and establishments such as Snoe Beauty, Browhaus and Strip.

I went to the event with my cousin and we were just overwhelmed with the number of people who were attending. I event saw a few men in the event as well! Haha. I originally signed up for 3 events but unfortunately, I only got to attend 1 of these events because I had other errands to run. I got to attend the talk called "Beauty Questions Solved". The talk was basically an open forum wherein the audience can ask the members of the BDJ Box Beauty Ministry their questions about beauty. I really enjoyed this talk because the beauty ministers who where present (Tara, Nicole and Kate) were very insightful and they gave such useful tips! I loved how knowledgeable they are about beauty. They really answered all of the questions that were raised and they seemed to have such lovely personalities! Shout out to Kate who is my favorite among the beauty ministers! I loved the outfit that she was wearing and I was so jealous of her hair! :)

Here are a few pictures that I was able to take from the event:

This was during the talk. The host was Managing Director Kat Dy. She was very engaging as a host and I loved her outfit! Members of the beauty ministry who were present were Tara Cabullo, Nicole Romero and Kate Alvarez. :)

Brands such as L'Occitane, Physiogel and Yuka participated in the event and gave free samples!

Revlon and Covergirl gave free makeovers. I forgot to take a picture of the Max Factor and Shiseido booths where free makeovers were also being done. Ofcourse, Goody was also there and they gave out free Ouchless Elastics to the first 500 registrants.

This was me at the entrance of the event. Sorry for looking so haggard.
I wasn't wearing any makeup. Haha.

Ohh, and did I mention that I got a free loot bag at the event as well? Here's what I got:

My loot bag! The actual bag was from Goody. I also got a Cosmopolitan Magazine. But I was disappointed with the magazine because it was the August 2012 issue. I wish they put something more recent. :(

I also got the Revlon Custom Eyes Mascara, the L'oreal Fall Repair Shampoo and Conditioner, samples from Physiogel and some Pantene Color & Perm Lasting Care Shampoo. I got totally excited about the Revlon Mascara. I have never tried any Revlon Mascara's before and I can't wait to try this one!

All in all, I really enjoyed the event! It was a good effort on the part of the BDJ team and I know that they have put a lot of thought and hard work into making the event a success. Kudos to the BDJ team! I hope that there will be another beauty social in the near future. And I hope that they will have more activities and feature more brands. :)

Unboxing my March Glamourbox!

Hello Lovelies!

Today, I got giddy and excited when our office messenger handed me a package wrapped in green plastic! I instantly knew that it was my March Glamourbox! I love receiving my monthly subscription from Glamourbox because there is that sense of suspense and excitement as to what products are in the box.

I have been a subscriber of Glamourbox since the very beginning. I believe that they are the first of its kind here in the Philippines. I remember watching videos on YouTube about other beauty subscription services in the US and the UK like Birchbox and Glambag. I always wished that someone will start a beauty subscription service here in the Philippines and my prayers were answered through Glamourbox! Being a beauty addict, I always look forward to receiving this box every month and so far, Glamourbox never fails to disappoint.

For their March box, the theme is "All about US". I love how every month the box has a different theme. This month it's all about "channeling our inner goddesses, carrying our own style with confidence and conquering the world".

These are the contents of my box. You definitely get your money's worth for this subscription with the amount of samples you get and you also get to have one or two full-sized products a month.

Now, let's go to the individual products in this month's box.

1. Eye of Horus Natural Smokey Eye Pencil, Full Size 1.2 g / Php 960
This is the product that I was most happy to see in my box! It comes in a full size and in the color black. I was really hoping to receive another Eye of Horus product in my box because I fell in love with their mascara which I receive in a prior month.

2. Pevonia Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, Full Size 10 ml / Php 2,950
I also got a good sample size of this Pevonia cleanser. Because it is so expensive, I have never tried this product before. But that's the beauty of this subscription service; you get to try out cool products and see if they are really worth your money.

3. Avon Skin So Soft Glutathione Whitening Renewal Hand & Body Lotion, Full Size 250 ml / Php 350
I'm a lotion addict and seeing this product in my box made me happy! I think this would be perfect to carry around in your purse to keep your hands moisturized at all times.

4. Heynature BB Creams, Full Size 40 g / Php 1,300
I have never heard of this brand before. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that these BB Creams will be awesome!

5. Heynature Aqua Brightening Gel, Full Size 80 g / Php 1,750
According to the product description, this moisturizing gel transforms into pearl-like water droplets upon massaging the skin. It helps boost up skin hydration level & effectively soothes the skin, resulting in full elasticity with a luminous glow. Oh, this would definitely contribute to a goddess-like look!

6. Yves Saint Laurent Saharienne, Full Size 75 ml / Php 4,300
Ralph Lauren Big Pony 1, Full Size 75 ml / Php 4,300
Almost every month, Glamourbox includes perfume samples in their box. I think this is a great way in trying out different scents and finding out which scent suits your taste and style.

7. Discount Vouchers
They also include discount vouchers for some cool deals every month. For this month, they included a 10% off voucher for Rollerball and a gift voucher worth Php 2,000 at SureSlim Wellness Centre.

Awww, I just love my Glamourbox! I'm so excited to try out the products! I am particularly excited to try out the eye liner from Eye of Horus!

If there is any specific product that you want me to review, please comment below and let me know.

I'm back + Forever21 Accessories Mini Haul!!!

Hello Lovelies!

How have you guys been? I know, I know. I have been on a very long hiatus. If you want to know why I haven't blogged in a very long time, the reason is I didn't have a laptop. My old one died on me before the end of 2012 and I have just recently acquired a new one. But, here I am now and I gotta tell you that I have missed blogging so much! I also missed reading other people's blogs and interacting with other bloggers and some of the readers! I am really glad to be back in the blogging world! :)

And to kick-off my "back-to-the-blogging-world" blog post, I have a mini accessories haul from Forever21 that I would like to share with everyone. I went to the Forever21 store in SM Makati yesterday because I knew that they were having a 3-day sale from March 15-17, 2013. More than anything in that store, I am crazy about their accessories! Every time I see their accessory section, I just gasp and stare in amazement at the wonderful selection that they have. So I grabbed a few pieces for myself...

Like any earring-crazy person, I went gaga over their earrings! I like stud earrings more than dangling earrings because they are more suited for a professional look and I find them to look more sophisticated on me. The first two earrings on top were the ones I got on BOGO (buy one, get one). The last two earrings on the bottom were not on sale, but I got them because I thought that they are pretty and that I was getting my money's worth for them. The third set of earrings (the one which looks like they are dangling ones) is actually composed of 3 pairs of earrings. The last set of earrings has 6 pairs of earrings in a set. That's a good deal in my opinion! :)

I also got two necklaces. I chose these two for their simplicity. The first one that I got is a dainty piece which only has a little key as a pendant. The other one that I got is simple yet has a little bit of edge to it because of the little spike pendants.

And the last thing that I got from Forever21 is a nail polish. I have never tried their nail polishes before and I really wanted to try one. There was not a lot to choose from, but this color called Grey Silver really caught my eye...

I hope you enjoyed my mini haul! I think you guys only have until tomorrow to check out the Forever21 sale! So you better hurry!!!

Etude House Haul!

Hey fellas!

I apologize for being MIA for so long. My laptop is slowly slipping into oblivion and it has gotten so slow already! Since I don't have that much patience in waiting for my laptop to upload pictures or to upload a blog post, I haven't blogged in quite a while. My laptop is still not working so well right now, but I've missed blogging so much!! So, had to muster all of my patience to deal with my senile laptop. Lol.

I went to SM Mall of Asia a while ago after attending the Feast at the PICC this morning. I went to SM Mall of Asia because I wanted to check out the Etude House store there. Etude House is a Korean cosmetics brand which sells make up and skincare products. I can say this brand is really huge here in the Philippines and a lot of bloggers are raving about their products!

So let me go through the things that I got:

I love their pink shopping bag!

I love Etude House nail polishes! They come in really gorgeous colors and the packaging is really cute and girly! The green one on the left side is called Meet Mint while the blue one on the farthest right side is called Double Purple. I'm sure the smaller nail polishes have names as well but the label is in Korean! Sorry....

I also got two of their face masks. They have a wide variety of face masks but I got the one in Royal Jelly and Lemon.

I have been meaning to try this Mascara Remover for ages. I'll let you guys know how it goes! :)

I hate lip liners in pencil form. For some reason, I find them uncomfortable to apply. When I saw this Soft Touch Auto Lip Liners, I knew I need to try them! I got one in a nude shade and another one in a more pinky shade. Again, I'm sure this things have names but then again the label is in Korean.

I've been looking for brow accessories since I've just recently started learning how to groom my brows. I found this brow pencil in a dark brown shade. I also got this nice angled tip brush that would be perfect for grooming my brows and for applying gel liner!

I went to the store with an Etude House coupon which I got from my Belle de Jour planner. The coupon entitles me to upgrade the gift that I will receive. For example, if the total amount of my purchases is Php 500, I am entitled to receive a gift that is equivalent to purchases worth Php 1000. Since my total purchases amounted to a little bit over a thousand, I got a free gift that is equivalent to purchases worth Php 2000. And I got this Milk Talk Body Wash Set for free!!! It comes in 3 variants! That's a great deal, right?!

Lastly, I went home proudly bearing my Pink Membership card. A minimum purchase of Php 500 entitles you to a free membership. This card is great because you'll earn rebates everytime you purchase from any of their stores! Savvy!

Do you guys have any product in this haul? If so, please comment below and tell me how you like this product. Also, if you want me to review any of the products featured above in great detail, please comment as well and let me know! :)

My Top 5 Shoe Must Haves

Hi!

I am a shoe addict! There, I said it! I just love shoes! I can't get enough of them! My mouth waters every time I go into a shoe store! Haha. Over the past 2 years since I have started working, I also started collecting shoes. My shoe collection is still compared small compared to most fashionistas, but I love my shoes! They complete any outfit and they make me feel SEXY! Haha.

Out of all the shoes that I own, there are pairs which I believe every girl should own! Let's run down my top 5 shoe must haves!

1. Black pumps

Every girl must own a good pair of black pumps! These are my fave pumps because they have animal prints on it which gives this pair an edgy look. Black pumps are classy and can be worn with dresses, skirts or jeans. They make your legs look long too!

2. Edgy/Sexy Heels

A nice pair of heels which you can wear on a date or a night-out with friends is a definite must have! This pair from Parisian really gives that edgy and sexy look!

3. Flip flops

Even though I love my heels, I still like comfort! Flip flops aren't only cute, but they are comfortable as well! You can wear them anywhere; to the beach, the supermarket, even for coffee with friends! This particular pair is so cute because of the nice beaded design! But, for everyday wear, I prefer my Havaianas Tops! :)

4. Ballet Flats

Should I say more? Every girl should have at least one pair. Period. Haha. ;)

5. Outrageous Shoes

I just had to include this! Every girl must probably own one pair of shoes that look outrageous to a normal person. The kind of shoes that would turn heads while walking on the sidewalk! Well, I own one pair of that and I feel that every girl must have at least one pair of outrageous shoes for FUN!

Mine is this glittery shoes that I got from Forever21. This pair is practically covered in glitter and has 5 inch heels! How outrageous is that! And too add to all these outrageousness, I feel like a giant when I am wearing this!

Indeed, this pair really catches people's attention!

What are your must have shoes? Please comment below and let me know! I'd love to hear from you!

New Products from ELF Cosmetics

Hey guys!

While I was browsing Facebook the other day, I saw E.L.F. (Eyes, Lips Face) announce on their Facebook page some new products from their brand that are coming out. Being a fan of E.L.F., I knew that I needed to try these products out for myself.

I went to SM Megamall yesterday to check out the products and came home with some cool stuff!

My loot

E.L.F. has some new mascaras, eyelashes, eyeshadows, repackaged blushes, lipsticks and lip stains! I was most excited about the lip stains because I never tried any before!

I got two out of the three lip stains. The other one was just too light for my coloring and liking. I got Nude Nectar and Crimson Crush. I have tried them on already and I can say that they are very pigmented and they are very easy to apply. I have to test them out more for staying power.

Top: Crimson Crush Bottom: Nude Nectar

Swatches - Left: Nude Nectar, Right: Crimson Crush

I got got one of their new E.L.F. Flawless Eyeshadow Quads. These quads look a lot like the Wet N Wild Color Icon but this one has 4 shades. I admit that these new E.L.F. quads aren't as pigmented as those from Wet N Wild though. This quad come in handy because it guides you where to apply the eyeshadow for an effortless and flawless look.

\

You get one shade each for your Base, Lid, Crease and Line.

Swatches (from bottom to top): Base, Lid, Crease, Line

The other new product that I was really excited about is their Eyebrow Stencil Kit. I have recently been grooming and filling in my eyebrows. I get really conscious because sometimes I feel like I have drawn a very lousy brow or that my eyebrows are on different levels. Haha. I hope you get what I mean.

So, I thought that this stencil kit will really come in handy. And it comes in 4 different eyebrow styles: Soft Arch, Structured Arch, Curved Arch and Full Arch.

I'll try out these products more and do detailed reviews on them in the near future!

Just a disclaimer though, this post isn't sponsored by E.L.F. I bought these products with my own money. I just love and believe in this brand so much! :)

Till my next blog post!
