Cream Eyeshadows Anyone?

Hi!

On a recent blog post that I did about the E.L.F. Eyeshadow Quads here, one reader and fellow blogger named India asked if I have tried any of the E.L.F. Cream Eyeshadows. I told them that I haven't tried any of these cream eyeshadows and I thought that it would be fun to try them out and do a review on them.

I bought 2 of E.L.F.'s Duo Cream Eyeshadows and gave it a go! I only bought 2 because I just wanted to try them out. There are I think 5 varieties of these duo cream eyeshadows. I also made sure that I got the ones with wearable neutral colors so that I can wear them during the day.

I got Mocha Swirl and Black Licorice.

Mocha Swirl is composed of a light champagne color and deeper chocolate brown color.

Black Licorice is composed of a silver and a black color.

I have tested these cream eyeshadows in 3 ways. I tried using it on its own without a primer and it creased like hell! I also tried using it on its own with a primer and it still creased. I guess that's because I really have oily eyelids. But when I tried using it as a base, it was magic! I used it under one of my non-cream eyeshadows for a daytime look and I must say that it lasted the entire day with very minimal creasing. It also helped bring out the beautiful pigmentation of my eyeshadow and it helped the eyeshadow stay in place throughout the day. ;)

The verdict:

Quality - B
I must say that I was a bit disappointed about this product. I was hoping to use the cream eyeshadows on its own because they really have some beautiful colors. I was really sad that it creased a lot. But, I am still happy that this product will not go to waste and that I can still use it as an eyeshadow base.

Packaging - B
The packaging is very small and compact. It would be perfect to travel around with and it fits in my makeup bag perfectly.

Price - B
The product costs Php 129.75 and I got this at Robinsons Department Store. Most E.L.F. products cost within that range.

Will I repurchase this product?
I don't think so. As much as I love E.L.F. products, I don't think I am going to repurchase this product again. E.L.F. hasn't disappointed me with any of their products before and I am so sad that this product did not work out for me. :(

Have any of you lovely readers tried this product? Did you like it? Please comment below and let me know how it worked for you.

Till my next blog post!

Always end up creasing when I use cream shadows. As a base, it really works. :)

I bought the Mocha Swirl one last year and yeah, I didn't use it much because it creased like crazy. It works best as a base and nothing more.

I actually left it in the car once on a particularly hot day and it melted so I had to throw it out, haha.
